Can you believe it? As soon as I stepped off the plane at Noi Bai Airport, I felt something truly special. Hanoi is not as noisy as I had imagined; instead, it carries a serene charm, a space where the past and present seamlessly blend together.

1️⃣ Exploring Historical Landmarks
If you love history, start your day at The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long – a place that has witnessed over 1,000 years of Vietnamese history. Walking on its ancient stone pathways, you can almost hear the echoes of past dynasties.
Not far from there, The Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s First University symbolizes the nation’s dedication to education. Standing in front of the ancient stone steles, I wondered, “How many scholars have placed their hands here, wishing for success?”

2️⃣ Hanoi’s Old Quarter – Where Every Street Tells a Story
Hanoi is filled with nostalgic alleys where time seems to slow down. A stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, crossing the iconic Red The Huc Bridge, brought me an overwhelming sense of peace in the heart of this bustling city.
Venturing deeper into Hanoi’s Old Quarter, each street is named after a traditional craft: Hang Dao, Hang Bac, Hang Ma… If you want to find a truly vintage café, visit Dinh Café, where you can savor the rich and creamy egg coffee – a Hanoi specialty.
3️⃣ Hanoi’s Cuisine – A Symphony of Flavors
A trip to Hanoi wouldn’t be complete without indulging in its legendary food!
- Pho Bo Bat Dan – This traditional beef noodle soup spot has no waiters; customers queue willingly because they know it’s worth the wait.
- Bun Cha Obama – The famous place where former U.S. President Obama enjoyed a delicious meal with Anthony Bourdain.
- Vietnamese Baguette, Sticky Rice, and Dried Beef Salad – Street food gems you can find in almost any alley.

4️⃣ Hanoi at Night – A Unique Charm
As night falls, Hanoi transforms into something entirely different. Try wandering around Hoan Kiem’s Walking Street on the weekend, where you can listen to street performances, play chess with elderly locals, or simply watch the vibrant crowds pass by.
For a livelier atmosphere, visit Ta Hien Street, also known as “Hanoi’s Beer Street.” A chilled beer, a plate of crispy fermented pork rolls, and a lively conversation – that’s all you need for a perfect evening.
📌 Hanoi – A City You Must Visit at Least Once in Your Lifetime!
